Solidarity Request for AMPL
8 June 2024 • CMCFA Chief Negotiator
Please do not cross the picket lines at McGill without a “picket pass” if you are attending Congress. Please see the message from Canadian Associations of University Teachers (CAUT) below:
Solidarity Request from the Association of McGill Professors of Law
The Association of McGill Professors of Law (AMPL) will soon be entering the 7th week of a strike. After certifying more than 18 months ago, AMPL is seeking to negotiate its first contract, but is facing an administration that is engaged in delaying tactics, reprisals, and bad faith bargaining.
With the Congress of the Federation of the Humanities and Social Sciences scheduled next week at the McGill campus, AMPL is requesting your assistance in putting additional pressure on the administration. The union will be picketing Congress and is requesting that you share with your members that AMPL is asking their picket lines be respected. Alternatively, AMPL will be issuing picket passes if it is absolutely necessary for someone to cross the line to attend an essential activity.
AMPL has produced the following FAQ that provides more details and suggested solidarity actions.
